Hello my lovely people!
February is here – the month of love, lighter mornings, and those early hints of spring that make you think maybe winter is loosening its grip (even if we’re still wrapped in layers).
This time of year gently reminds us to show ourselves some love too. You can’t pour from an empty cup, no matter how good you are at caring for everyone else. Supporting your colon is one of the most practical, grounding acts of self-care you can offer yourself – and often, your heart feels the benefit too.
If your body has been whispering (or not so quietly suggesting) that it needs a little TLC, now is the time to listen.
The gut-heart connection
Your gut and your heart are in constant communication. When digestion becomes sluggish or overloaded, it can contribute to inflammation, fatigue, bloating, low mood and that heavy, drained feeling that makes everyday life harder than it needs to be.
When the gut is supported properly, many of my clients tell me they feel:
- Lighter and more energised
- Less bloated and more comfortable
- Clearer in the head
- More like themselves again
That’s not a coincidence – it’s your body responding to being listened to.

Self-love that actually makes sense
Self-love isn’t selfish. Most of us are brilliant at putting everyone else first – partners, children, parents, work, friends – you name it. But here’s the truth, said with love: if you’re always last on your own list, something will eventually give.
Supporting your digestive health is one of the most practical, grounded acts of self-care you can do. It’s not indulgent – it’s sensible. And your body absolutely notices when you start paying attention.

Supporting your nervous system too
Self-care doesn’t stop in the treatment room. I also hold regular sound baths – a deeply relaxing and grounding way to calm the nervous system when life feels loud or overwhelming.

All you need to do is lie down, get warm and comfortable, breathe, and let your body do the rest.

A February love note (and a gentle nudge)
We’ve been incredibly busy – thank you so much for your trust, it truly means the world. Because of this, Lucy and I have increased our working hours to make sure you can get an appointment without a long wait.
So if your body has been hinting, nudging, or outright shouting that it needs support – now is the time!
Support your gut. Lighten your body. Refill your cup – because you matter too!
After 22 years in colonic hydrotherapy, I know this for certain: when you take care of your gut, everything else feels easier – including loving yourself.
Lucy and I look forward to seeing you soon. With love, warmth and a good dose of honesty.
I hope you enjoy this month’s blog – after all, it is the month of love.
Take care,
Helen x
