August has a funny way of sneaking up on us.
Holidays, barbecues, ice creams that definitely didn’t stop at one scoop, a few extra glasses of wine, long lunches and routines that have gone completely out of the window!
Sound familiar?
If you’re feeling bloated, sluggish, uncomfortable or simply not quite yourself, you’re certainly not alone. Summer is for enjoying, but changes to our usual diet, sleep, hydration and exercise can leave our digestive system feeling a little out of sorts.
That’s why August can be the perfect time for a gentle reset before we head into autumn.

Your Gut Does More Than You Think 🧠
When we think about gut health, digestion is usually the first thing that comes to mind, but there’s much more going on in there!
Your digestive tract is home to trillions of microorganisms, collectively known as the gut microbiome. When this little community is diverse and balanced, it supports digestion, nutrient absorption, regular bowel movements, immunity and even communication between the gut and brain.
Your gut is also very good at letting you know when it needs a little attention.
Bloating, feeling unusually full, irregular bowel habits, excessive wind (yes, we all do it! 💨), tiredness or generally feeling heavy and uncomfortable can all be signs that things aren’t quite running as smoothly as usual.

Give Your Gut a Little TLC 💚
You don’t need to come home from holiday and completely overhaul your life.
Start with the basics:
- Fibre: Get plenty of fibre from colourful vegetables, fruit, beans, lentils, oats, nuts and seeds. Your beneficial gut bacteria love fibre, and variety is one of the best things you can give your microbiome. 🌱
- Hydration: And don’t forget your water! 💧 Staying hydrated supports normal bowel function and helps fibre do its job properly, particularly if you’ve been travelling, enjoying the sunshine or drinking a little more alcohol than usual.
Where Does Colonic Hydrotherapy Fit In?
Colonic hydrotherapy isn’t a magic cure or a substitute for eating well and looking after yourself. What it can be is part of a wider approach to supporting your digestive wellbeing.
Many of my clients visit because they’re experiencing bloating or sluggish bowels, want to feel lighter after a period of overindulgence, or simply choose to include colonics as part of their wellness routine.
Everyone is different, which is why every appointment starts with a thorough consultation. My role is to listen, understand your individual needs and make sure you feel safe, comfortable and cared for.
Can You Help Me Reach My Next Milestone? ⭐
We’re also getting very close to another exciting milestone… 500 five-star Google reviews!
If you’ve visited the clinic and felt cared for, reassured or simply left feeling better than when you arrived, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d leave us a review. Your words can make such a difference to someone who may be nervous about booking their first appointment.
I’ll pop the review link below.
Ready for an August Reset?
If your digestive system has been whispering — or perhaps shouting! — that it needs a little attention, listen to it.
- 💧 Drink a little more water.
- 🌱 Eat more plants.
- 🏃♀️ Move your body.
Get back into your routine and pay attention to what your gut is telling you. And if you’d like a little professional support along the way, we’d be delighted to help.
Here’s to feeling lighter, healthier and more comfortable, not just for August but for every season ahead.
Love and laughter,
Helen & Lucy 💚
