Your gut has a lot to say. We’re here to listen.
- Bloating?
- Wind?
- Constipation?
- Loose stools?
- A tummy that seems to have a mind of its own?
Or perhaps you’re simply thinking, “What on earth is going on in there?”
Welcome to October — where we’re getting to know your gut a little better.
And yes, we’re going to get right to the bottom of it.
Your gut is a busy little place
Your digestive system is home to trillions of microorganisms, including bacteria and other microbes.
Together, they make up your gut microbiome — a wonderfully complicated little community that lives inside you.
And just like us, it seems to enjoy a bit of variety.
The foods you eat can influence the environment in your gut, which is why a varied diet containing plenty of fibre-rich plant foods can be a great place to start.
Think:
- Vegetables
- Fruit
- Beans and lentils
- Wholegrains
- Nuts and seeds
Basically, your gut likes a good buffet.
What about fermented foods?
Fermented foods can also be part of a varied diet.
Live yoghurt, kefir, kimchi and sauerkraut are a few examples.
But before you start filling the fridge with enough sauerkraut to feed a small village, remember:
There isn’t one magical “gut health” food.
Your overall diet and lifestyle matter far more than jumping on the latest gut-health trend.
And your gut notices more than what you eat…
Your gut doesn’t exist in a little bubble.
Sleep, physical activity and stress can all influence digestive wellbeing too.
Which may explain why your tummy sometimes seems to know you’re stressed before you’ve even admitted it yourself.
So, if your digestive system has been behaving more like a drama queen than a digestive system lately, it might be time to pay attention.
Stop guessing. Start investigating.
This is where things get interesting.
Because if you’re experiencing ongoing digestive symptoms, you don’t necessarily have to keep guessing what’s causing them.
We offer an array of tests designed to help us investigate what’s going on and get to the bottom of the matter.
Rather than throwing random supplements at the problem or following the latest “miracle gut reset” you saw online, testing can help provide useful information to guide a more personalised approach.
And after 20 years of experience, our therapist knows that every person — and every gut — is different.
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
20 years of experience. One very important question…
“What’s actually going on?”
That’s what we want to help you find out.
We’ll listen to your symptoms, look at the bigger picture and, where appropriate, use testing to investigate further.
Because you deserve more than being told:
- “It’s probably just stress.”
- Or: “Have you tried cutting out gluten?”
- Or the classic: “Just eat more fibre.”
Sometimes there is more to the story.
Let’s get to the bottom of it
If your gut has been giving you grief, don’t spend another six months Googling your symptoms at 11pm.
Come and talk to someone who has spent 20 years helping people understand their bodies and their individual health concerns.
- We’ll investigate.
- We’ll listen.
- We’ll test where appropriate.
- And we’ll work towards understanding what’s actually going on, rather than simply masking the symptoms.
Ready to find out what’s going on?
Your gut has been trying to tell you something.
Maybe it’s time we listened.
Book your appointment and let’s get to the bottom of it.
